Data Science Fellow
Raphael is a data science fellow at Nesta, where he is using data science methods to study the creative economy.
His work so far includes analysing arts and cultural charities at scale and social impact measurement using novel sources of online data.
Prior to Nesta, he worked as a research fellow at a telecommunications non-profit in the US, where he focused on digital inclusion. In the UK, he has worked at a behavioural economics consultancy and later as a software developer at the UK Parliamentary Digital Service for two years on a team building open data APIs.
He has a BA from Yale University and an MSc from the Oxford Internet Institute. He wrote his master's thesis on the disability digital divide in the UK. He enjoys theatre, running, and eating, though usually not at the same time.
