Data Scientist, Innovation Mapping Team
Rachel is a Data Scientist in the Innovation Mapping Team.
Prior to Nesta, Rachel completed her undergraduate degree in Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford, followed by a PhD in Geology and Geophysics at the University of Edinburgh. Her thesis was on the pattern of earthquakes in active continental rifts, for which she developed her own clustering method. She found she enjoyed the data analysis and coding aspect of her PhD the most, which led her to the data scientist role at Nesta. Rachel is excited to work for Nesta and to help contribute towards a better future through data and innovation.
In her spare time she can be found playing, watching or discussing rugby and unashamedly listening to Taylor Swift.
