Witt/Kieffer and Peter G. Peterson Foundation
Senior Program Administrator

Witt/Kieffer is excited to share that we are working with the Peter G. Peterson Foundation to identify an exceptional individual for a newly created position. The nonpartisan Foundation was started in 2008 by Pete Peterson, a highly successful business leader and philanthropist, who personally set aside an endowment of $1 Billion to increase public awareness of the nature and urgency of key fiscal challenges threatening America’s future. The Peterson Center on Healthcare (PCH) is a newly formed initiative and recently hired Jeffrey Selberg to lead PCH. Crucial to their success, the Foundation is seeking a uniquely-skilled executive to partner with Selberg as a Senior Program Administrator.

The healthcare sector has been identified by the Peterson Foundation as a critical sector they can impact and they are committed to developing a robust program of initiatives and grants aimed at fostering improvements in the U.S. healthcare system. They recognize there are opportunities to create linkages and solutions with various healthcare stakeholders across the nation. The Senior Program Administrator will be a visionary and content expert who will be primarily responsible for creating and deploying the grants strategy and the grants programs within the overall enterprise strategy. As such, s/he will need to build capability, leverage expertise in the marketplace, build sustainable relationships and assimilate/disseminate the knowledge gained through PCH’s grants outcomes. Clearly, this person must be experienced in philanthropy where creating and leading successful grants programs that addressed a wide variety of issues and dynamics within the healthcare sector were the key factors driving impact. PCH will position itself as a proactive grantmaker where potential grantees will be identified, approached and coordinated as part of the overall grants and knowledge creation strategy.

A few specific responsibilities will include leading the development of short- and long-term grant making strategies and programs that represent the high impact opportunities where PCH can positively influence the delivery of healthcare across the United States. S/he will lead development of concrete approaches for meeting program area goals. This includes contributing to strategic decision-making about topics and projects to pursue, constructing and implementing work plans to meet identified needs and managing relationships with current and potential grantees, consultants and contractors.

The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of skills, traits and experiences including substantial knowledge of the health care delivery system with particular knowledge of quality improvement, value based purchasing, healthcare regulatory environment and patient safety trends and initiatives for providers and payers. Most likely, the selected candidate will have 10+ years of project management and/or operations experience in private and/or public sector health organizations such as healthcare research, policy, foundation and/or academic environments. Another appropriate profile is a healthcare management consulting background which has included analytical rigor, strong client and project management and excellent written and communication skills.

To submit a resume or nomination please connect with the Witt/Kieffer consultants partnering with Peterson on this endeavor, Wayne Luke, Rachel Polhemus or John Fazekas at PetersonSrProgAdm@WittKieffer.com. We appreciate your consideration and any help you might be able to offer.
