Current Initiatives

SAT group members

A key element of Athena SWAN is the establishment of a Self Assessment Team, to undertake a thorough assessment of the data. Our SAT has representation from all grades and groups of staff, as well as students.

Articles on Gender

Our work in this area is informed by research already undertaken by others. We have collected together some useful articles and reports that can be used as a resource.

Athena Charter

The Athena SWAN Charter was introduced in 2005 to encourage advancement of women's careers in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine in HE. In 2015 it was expanded to include arts, humanities, social sciences, business and law.

Courses

The University provides training and resources in relation to diversity and inclusion and unconscious bias.

WEDG Group

We have set up a departmental group to focus on wellbeing, equality, diversity and gender issues.
