There is no time limit, you can apply again when you are ready. Please take note of the quarterly cut off dates for stage one applications as this is when we will next assess applications.

Yes. We will judge each project idea on its merits, but will take into account your track record of managing a grant with us and your ability to deliver results.

Yes if you have a reason, i.e. your organisation is very young or very small. We carry out due diligence checks during our assessment so you will still need to be able to discuss your financial health in detail with us.

No but if you have it please state clearly whether or not this funding is confirmed at the time you apply to us.

Yes, we have a policy of full cost recovery. Costs must be proportionate and based on a clearly outlined methodology.

We have a two stage process so your ideas are reviewed at stage 1 and the full project proposal at stage 2. We are a small team and unfortunately do not have lots of time to discuss ideas. Please trust the process and submit your ideas with a stage 1 application. If your application is invited to stage 2 there will be opportunity to have an in-depth discussion with a member of the grants team.

Yes if the work intended has a focus on the UK and there would be significant impact on economies in the UK.

We cannot accept supporting documents at stage one. At stage two we will ask for any documents required. Please limit what you send to us to what we actually ask for.

Our upper limit is £200,000 though we would expect any project applying at the top end of this scale to be able to demonstrate a very close fit with our programme aims. The budget can of course cover up to five years, on average most projects are 1-2 years long.

Our practice is to pay quarterly in arrears against activity that has already happened. This will require you to send in an invoice. This means that you can start a project quite soon after approval, as you will only invoice us for costs after the close of the first quarter.

We strive to provide a high-level of customer service and be responsive to your needs, within the resource constraints we have to operate to. Should you be unhappy with the way your application or grant is being administered, please raise this with your main contact in the first instance, who will try to put things right. If you are unhappy with the way in which your contact has tried to address your concerns and would like to raise a formal complaint, please write to the Foundation Director, who will try to resolve the matter. If your complaint relates to the Foundation Director, please write to the Chair of the Foundation.

Yes - we fund charities, social enterprises and private companies. Whilst the organisation funded does not have to be a charity the activity you are applying for has to be charitable in its nature. For more guidance on this please refer to the application guidance document.

It is the expected pattern of when you will have incurred costs and when you would like us to pay you. It is not set in stone - let us know if you need to change when payments are made to you.

Yes, our terms and conditions ask that you invoice us for each payment and provide detail on your actual expenditure in the preceding period, using the template provided.
