This two-day workshop, run by the Core Economics website project and Economics Network, will focus on effective and innovative teaching of economics using the Core Economics website texts (The Economy,\u00a0Economy, Society, and Public Policy and Doing Economics), and their associated teaching and learning resources. It will introduce participants to the rationale behind the content and pedagogy of Core Economics website and offer practical tips on designing and teaching a course based on these texts. The workshop facilitators will include authors of the Core Economics website texts, experienced educators and a Royal Shakespeare Company trained actor.\n

Sessions will include:\n

• An introduction to the Core Economics website vision and pedagogy\n
• A detailed look at how one might teach specific units\n
• An exploration of teaching Core Economics website with a flipped classroom approach\n
• Effectively using voice and presence in the classroom (with a voice coach who trained with the RSC)\n
• A practical introduction to using games in the classroom\n\n

  The workshop is designed for:\n

  • experienced users of Core Economics website,\n
  • those thinking about using any of the three Core Economics website texts,\n
  • advanced PhD students and teaching assistants.\n\n

    Places on this workshop are limited so we encourage you to register early. There is a registration fee of \u00a330 for the event, dinner on 18^{th\u00a0June is included. We do not have sufficient funding to support accommodation and travel costs for all participants but will attempt to provide at least partial support if meeting these costs would cause hardship.
