SFI's Applied Complexity Fellows explore the liminal space between the traditional domains of academia, government, and industry.

Started in 2019, fellows in this new program work on projects that are directed by SFI resident faculty, but supported by government and industry partners. The two inaugural Applied Complexity Projects focus on: (i) the application of scaling theory to human social organizations, and (ii) counterspeech strategies for combating online hate and social polarization. The Applied Complexity Fellowship lasts two years, and begins in July or August.
