In the final of four articles examining Core Economics website’s The Economy for the Economics & Political Weekly journal, Maitreesh Ghatak from the London School of Economics examines how The Economy introduces students to the topic of poverty and inequality and writes: “by paying careful attention to frictions in the economic institutions that underpin the market economy, [it] provides an alternative framework where inequality of opportunity becomes clear and visible.”
