Azim Premji University, Bangalore aims to make significant and sustained contributions towards creating a just, equitable, humane and sustainable society through the development of talent and the creation of knowledge that can facilitate this.
The close linkage to the world of practice through the work of Azim Premji Foundation has led us to create a faculty structure that is not divided along traditional disciplinary lines. We hope that interesting networks and collaborative work practices will develop in the process. This consideration has also prompted us to invite exceptional field practitioners as faculty in the University. In a significant departure from convention in Indian higher education, we have blurred the sharp divide between the roles of faculty and administrators in University governance to achieve this.
We value intellectual curiosity, originality of thinking, collegial mode of working and an egalitarian spirit in our faculty. All faculty members are expected to contribute to and participate in some measure to teaching, research and practice/service.
We are looking for academicians and field practitioners who resonate with the purpose of the University and enjoy working in teams, to join us as members of the faculty.
